Commendation for Excellence in Food Gatherings: MADISON SQUARE EATS

October 15, 2011
A collection of some of the most cool-kid food establishments in the city — from famed waffle cart Wafels and Dinges to Brooklyn sensation Roberta’s pizza — Madison Square Eats has a booth for every foodie and many, many happy foodies at every booth. It’s only going to be around until October 21, so run, do not walk, and make sure to get there hungry.

SPECIAL COMMENDATIONS - The Commender’s best of Madison Square Eats.

> The Three Cheese Grilled Cheese from The Milk Truck. Aged Gruyere, Cheddar, and Domestic Blue with Caramelized Granny Smith Apples on Rosemary Pullman bread. Divine. $7 (@milktrucknyc; milktruckgrilledcheese.com)

> The Candied Bacon with Maple Cream Cheese Macaron from Macaron Parlour. So good Charlie V and I could not stop smiling. Or jumping around like idiots. Or eating.$2.50 for 1, $20 for box of 9 (@macaronparlour; macaronparlour.com)

> The Noah Cupcake from Robicellli’s. Apple cake, goat cheese buttercream, roasted bacon, bourbon and brown sugar sauce. Truly one of the most delicious foods I have ever eaten. $3 (917.509.6048; robicellis.tumblr.com)

Notable Trends: Bacon desserts, Asian influenced everything.

All can be found at MADISON SQUARE EATS at Worth Square, 5th Ave between 24th and 25th Streets, from now through October 21, 11 AM – 9 PM.
